So, I watched the Propose Daisakusen SP without subs, I think I got most of it right with my limited Nihongo knowledge.  Waiting for Love Song's release, they do the most awesome best work I've seen. Expect some updated review on it in time for Yamapi's birthday. (Honestly, I became a fan from all those translations the wonderful Love Song did for him)

I didn’t really know what to expect when I started watching Get Karl Soo Jung! Net critics didn’t say much about it which probably means that it wasn’t widely watched but I gave it a go and I’m pleased that I did. I was always attracted to stories with wedding premises and this series had three wedding settings (Must be the flowers and the dress the bride wears, oh well something about it that makes my interest pique)

The premise of the series starts with a runaway bride, Oh Soo Jung on her wedding day to follow another man to America leaving her overweight fiancé Man Soo distraught and hurt at the altar. Soo Jung ran away because Man Soo failed his Law Exam after the third stage – the interview and was the first man to do so because he could not tell a lie that he would do anything for Soo Jung.

A long the years, I've watched many Asian dramas, some have captivated me in different ways, either in terms of acting, music direction, visual cinematography, the plot. I'm not going to list out all my favourite dramas today, you know how are just classics and you recall them vividly as if you just watched it yesterday, some dramas filled the void or complemented on how you were feeling or your outlook towards life at that moment so you can recall them with fondness. I'm just going to link to some of my favourite MVs on the chemistry on and off the scenes from a few dramas that I am very much attached too.

Happy 35th Birthday to Kimura Takuya.  My favourite actor who made me a big fan of j-doramas at large till today.  I still see him improving in his own way although he is still tops as an actor in Japan.  May all your dreams come true and success will follow all your hard work. Still tops in my book.

Happy 23rd Birthday, Ryo-chan! Became a fan after watching him in the doramas Litre of Tears, Ganbatte Ikimashoi and sad to admit, still haven't finished watching Attention Please (shame on me). Didn't really know he was actually in two groups.  No wonder he looks a bit tired most of the times. May you progress further in both your groups, though I would like to see him in more dramas.

In commemoration of the 10th year Anniversary for Love Generation, I made some icons and banners for Kimura-Matsu Forum Zone. Since I first watched Love Generation, the drama has held a special place in my heart and introduced me to Kimura Takuya and Matsu Takako both as actors and as singers.

So, I tried my hand a bit on trying to come up with some creations for my personal use. I have been inspired by all those beautiful icons, headers and banners other lj users have come up with. I am using gimp since it's free. It's pretty neat but the Gimp does give out good results as well but discussions on it I haven't found as much as PS CS or PSP. So it's more or less trial and error on my part.

So for my maiden foray into the world of photoshopping, I chose my first foremost OTP! Such two beautiful people who have made me really happy just by starring together after quite some time. Didn't try anything fancy but I'm quite pleased with the results and....here's what I came up with...

So after putting up the pictures, I thought it would be fair to do a total recap of the whole drama. I really loved the whole setting they put up at the start and it had so much potential.

I am not one who dwells on the past, we are after all humans, we make mistakes, some we regret more than others, some will haunt us all our lives. I believe that the past is the past, you can just learn from it, move on and try to avoid making that same mistake. Carpe diem, any body? I don't really mean it in the extreme kind of way (Dead Poets Society ring a bell, that could be a whole other review, maybe some other time)

I watched Proposal Daisakusen some time back and wrote this long winded post on my site about it. So I’m transferring it here. I wasn't really interested with the time slip scenario of the dorama but I was pleasantly surprised by the bittersweet touching and tender moments from the dorama. Each episode brings more heartbreak to our protaganist instead of overcoming his regrets. Such a cool yousei as well!!

The dorama starts as we see a prospective bride getting ready and a man who overslept races against roadblocks and a marathon pack to reach the church on time. Iwase Ken (Yamashita Tomohisa) and Yoshida Rei (Nagasawa Masami) are best friends for seven years. Iwase Ken, is obtuse, but has discovered that his best friend is his one true love who is getting married. He manages to arrive on time and witnesses the love of his life marrying another man. He gives a heartfelt speech as her best friend during the wedding and the whole wedding party watches the slide show of the brides life. Each photo strikes a reaction from our protagonist. Enters a snazzy suited man with top hat who offers him a chance to go back in time of the photographs to change the scenario of the picture.

I had deja vu when watching the first episode. A case of where have I seen the scenario where Yoshida Rei, the prospective bride prepares herself, albeit naively, for the biggest and possibly grandest event of her life. We can see from the beginning that the writers and director had given great detail from the lacy curtains of the glass doors and the voiceover that you can open the door of miracles.  The voice over also stated that some do marry the person they love second best. So from the start we already know that the poor guy is after all second best.

I've been having these slow lazy days where I find no motivation at all to do my studies and my assignments!! I've been lazing around without accomplishing anything!!! Just wait till the clock ticks to the final countdown!!!

I don't want to waste my time but I can't seem to put my nose on the grindstone!! I wish that we could just take a drink of one those heavily advertised drinks and be instantly charged up!! Whooosh!!

I know finishing it fast is the best option so it leaves me time to fiddle about, to re-edit, to actually read back all the things I've put down But I can't seem to make myself do it. Sighs!!! Okay I'll just procrastinate one day more and start everything afresh tomorrow... Tomorrow is Another Day.... (Cue Tara's Theme from Gone With The Wind. I do so love that movie. A Classic!!)
 

So finally I jumped the bandwagon and signed up for an LJ account. Hope it will catch on to me like reading up on some of the interesting LJ community around. Just thought to join and put up my interests, likes, dislikes and take a look back 6 months later and see that I have changed in tastes maybe not for the better but I think change is good. It changes the way one looks at things, everything, the world. Possibly let me have a laugh of how I used to like some things or how I felt so strongly about one thing before.

Typically, I get into phases when I'm so into one thing at one moment and into another the next. But usually i bring with me past memories as well, the good and the bad. Guess that's my first words in the LJ today. Hoping that there'll be many more words here.
